circa 1887, 32in. black powder only fine damascus barrels, the rib engraved 'W.& C. SCOTT & SON. PATENT TRIPLEX LEVER GRIP. 'THE PREMIERE QUALITY'. 10 GT. CASTLE STREET. REGENT CIRCUS. LONDON.', 2 7/8in. chambers, bored approx. 3/4 choke in both, W. & M. Scott and T. Baker patent treble-grip barrel-cocking hammerless action, patent no. 761 of 1878, use number 2422, with 1875 patent 'Triplex' grip, incorporating W.& C. Scott patent automatic block safety, the crosspin cover circumferenced with 'W. & C. SCOTT & SON. PATENT BLOCK SAFETY HAMMERLESS', Scott patent crystal cocking-indicators, patent no. 3223 of 1875, each with 'Patent Crystal Indicator' engraved in gothic script to the undersides of the windows, Scott patent gas check system, patent no. 617 of 1882, use number 2536, Needham & Hinton patent intercepting sears, patent no. 706 of 1879, fine scroll engraving surrounding scenes of mallard, Tufted duck, Canada and Barnacle geese, Crested grebe and curlew, the underside with a siege of herons, the triggerguard with a further heron, the triggerguard tang with the serial number and the Scott castle trademark, 14 5/8in. highly-figured semi-pistolgrip stock including 7/8in. recoil pad, the wrist inset with a gold shield escutcheon initialled 'F.W', the fore-end with W. Scott 1873 patent 'key' release catch, patent no. 3756, weight 10lb. 1oz.
